At what angle and depth should I sharpen the chain on my chainsaw?

They sell a file with a guide on it specifically for chain saw sharpening….then we also had a 12 volt one that plugged into our cigarette lighter when out in the field cutting that has a small grinder head (similar to a dremel or rotary tool) and it has a built in guide on it.. They are pretty inexpensive.. the manual one around 6 or 7 dollars and the electric around 30.00
It’s been awhile for me but, for hard wood you use a 35′-32′ angle and for soft wood go with a 45′ angle. Keep it out of the dirt and always wear safety glasses nomatter what, The first thing that happens when you get something in your eyes is to take one hand away from the saw leaving with half the safety you could have if you would have just wore the glasses.
25 degree angle and file only enough to get a squared up corner at the point of the tooth.
