Can you help me adjust the carb on my 026 Stihl chainsaw?

Beside the low and high speed adjustment is an arrow that goes 1 turn counter clockwise. I tried turning both screws 1 turn counter clockwise like the arrow suggests and it will run fine for a few minutes. It sounds fine when I rev it up but when I stop it shuts off. Is there a way to fine tune it so it will stay running?
I have cleaned the carburetor so that is not the problem.
Oops I meant air filter.

  1. Carl says:

    Start it up.
Then with it going turn the low speed jet until it starts to stall. Then turn the jet the opposite way until it starts to stall. Then put it in between the two stall points.
Then adjust the high speed jet. It’s a little harder to do. You want it as far counter clockwise "rich" as you can run it and still have power in the cut. If you run the saw and it lacks power in the cut crank it in just a nick and keep trying it. Don’t crank it in to lean because it will lack oil and run hot.
Of course adjust the idle so it will run without the chain going around.

It’s a job for a shop you trust. Air filter cleaned?
