Can you recommend a good gas powered chainsaw?

I would like to stay under 0 which seems reasonable based on both Lowe's and Home Depot's websites. I currently own an electric chainsaw and it is time to upgrade. Any opinions are appreciated!

It depends on how much cutting you are going to do. Take into consideration how big a job will be also. Do you need a 14" blade or a 20" blade to get your jobs done? A Stihl or a Husgaverna would be great but a little pricey. I have a Craftsman 20" that takes care of all I need to do. I have a lot of trees. If you are using it for commercial then go with the better brands, if just homeowner then stick with a medium brand. Craftsman and Poulan are built the same. You might want to check out Consumer reports on-line to get a better idea. Good luck.

If you can get your hands on a Stihl chainsaw it’s the best by far. But your budget will probably only buy a poulan. Poulan is OK but it’s nothing compared to a Stihl.
Any gas saw will be better than an electric chainsaw. An electric saw will not go as fast and is a joke.

Consider an electric. You can get a 16" model, if reqd. Starts every time.

There is a 16 inch Echo chain saw on clearance at Home Depot for $94 which sold originally for $269. You will have to call the local Home Depots in your area to see if there are any left.

The model number is likely CS-370-16C which is the one seen here http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100614627&N=10000003+90015+528333+4122
