chain wont move on saw?

my neighbor has an echo chainsaw. can get it started but the chain wont move. cant get it to rotate even when the saw is off.

    There is a safety handle on the top of the saw, in front of the regular handle. Pull it towards you. Sounds like you accidentally engaged the safety.

    After you check the safety stop, loosen the nuts that hold the bar to the saw so that you can loosen the bar. Then try pulling the chain away from the bar all around to see if the bar has pinched the chain anywhere. If you find a spot where the chain is pinched, remove the chain and open up the bar slot a little at the pinched spot with a flat blade screwdriver. If all is good on bar and chain, take a look at the sprocket to see if it is broken or restricted. Good luck.
