Chainsaw chain keeps coming loose?
After a few cuts the chain on an echo cs-306 model keeps coming loose.
I accidentally ran it into the ground a bit when I was cutting a small stump with it and got some dirt on the chain, would this mess up the chain? I cleaned it as much as possible, however after about 2 minutes of cutting I have to tighten it again, or the chain will come off. Is this normal? (I know echo doesn't make the best chainsaws)

They loosen often, esp if new, hot or if the chain gets into a bind. Dirt will dull a blade, then it might get loose more often due to heat. Keep tightening, but if it doesn’t cut well, get a new chain.
Cheaper chainsaws have this problem. Your best bet is a Stihl or Husquavarna.
One more thing, make sure you have bar oil in it.
Keeping the chain sharp is the most important. Try not to cut too close to the ground. It doesn’t take much to dull it. When cutting laying timber, try to always lift it off the ground before cutting.
Make sure you keep the chain well oiled. Also make sure when you begin to saw that the saw is started before trying to cut with it. With an electric chair saw you start it on the limb itself. They loosen normally but after only a couple of minutes I don’t know. If you have the owners manual look up in the trouble shooting guide.
Echo CS-306 Instruction Manual/ if not you can print it off from the link below….there are about 25 pages and you’ll have to enlarge the print.
