Dirt will dull a blade, then it might get loose more often due to heat. Keep tightening, but if it doesn't cut well, get a new chain. Keeping the chain sharp is the most important. Try not to cut too close to the ground. It doesn't take much to dull it. When cutting laying timber, try to always lift it off the ground before cutting. One more thing, make sure you have bar oil in it.

Also make sure when you begin to saw that the saw is started before trying to cut with it. With an electric chair saw you start it on the limb itself. They loosen normally but after only a couple of minutes I don't know. If you have the owners manual look up in the trouble shooting guide.
