Chainsaw seized rope won't budge?

Try taking the chain off, remove the spark plug, squirt some lightweight lube into the cylinder and turning the engine over. If the engine is free, then you probably have a seized bar. If not, then a new saw would probably be in order.

Oh my yes it will need a total overhaul to be sawing again. In my humble opinion it would be cheaper to replace the saw rather than rebuilding the older saw.

    piston seized,will need rebuild

you said the chain was seized first?? it may have slipped off the sprocket which is now seizing the motor!! take the cover off the chain guard and remove the bar and chain,, try it then,, if it is still stuck remove the rope pull cover and try to turn the motor // with the plug disconnected!// if it still refuses to budge then it might be the piston!!!

the motor could be fine it could be that the clutch that drives the chain
is shot but i would take off both side covers and try moving the motor by hand the recoil could do it as well but if its an older saw or some one slip some straight gas then its done and cheaper to buy new
