chainsaw trouble?
chainsaw starts but quits when i give it throttle its a husqvarna model 55 rancher could it be the fuel filter or a dirty carburetor?

That saw has a history of problems with the fuel line. The symptoms are exactly what you describe. Replace the fuel line and I’ll bet it runs fine.
could be both or either one.are you turning the choke off too soon? not trying to be smart…also check your spark plug .Is the gas in it fresh?…
I am more familiar with stihl. But you can make sure chain brake is not engauged if equipped. If you have last seasons fuel in it get rid of that fuel and use fresh fuel. Is your chain too tight? You should be able to turn it on the bar with the engine off of course. Good Luck. Probably has a fuel filter or screen in tank.
Clean the carburetor filter first.
Adjust the carburetor.
For low speed jet: Turn the low speed jet until it starts to stall. Then turn it the other way until it stalls. Then put half way between the two stall points.
For high speed jet: Turn the jet counter clockwise until you loose power in the cut. Then turn the jet clockwise until you have power in the cut. The point is to have it a rich as possible and still have full power.
I think you might only have to adjust the high speed jet.
Because it starts it’s not a plug problem.
