Does anybody have a homelite 240 chainsaw? What are the factory carburetor high and low speed settings.?

I can't find a manual anywhere and I need a good point to start with carburetor settings.

  1. PantherFan says:

Turn both screws all the way in until they just bottom out, don’t force them too tight, and bring them both out 1 1/4 turns. This will allow the unit to start and run so you can fine tune it. Start with the idle side, and bring the screw back in until you have a smooth idle, just fast enough so it doesn’t stall out. Then accelerate and turn the high speed screw in until you reach top RPM. If you go to far, the saw will begin to lean out and die. If that happens, quickly turn the screw back out just a touch until it smooths back out. General rule of thumb is…if it sounds like it’s running too fast, it probably is! Don’t over speed!
    Hope this helps! :-)
