My Stihl chainsaw is hard to start. The pull rope is extremely tough to pull.?
It acts like the decompression valve isnt open, but this model (stihl 025) . Doesnt have an external valve.

Probably the "decompression" valve is blocked with gunk. If you feel confident in doing so, and can keep track of all the parts and how to reinstall, it is an interesting afternoon’s pursuit to disassemble, clean and reassemble a chain saw. An inexpensive 1" paint brush and a container of mineral spirits will make cleaning much easier.
If you forget where some parts go, the cost of reassembly at the local small engive repair shop probably won’t differ much from having it services in the first place.
If you get it back together and it works well for you, you’ll feel like a rocket scientist.
Read your owner’s maunal first, particularly the "troubleshooting" guide, if any.
Stihl’s are fantastic machines.
Get it serviced.
from a former logger who used to run many saws sounds like somthing in the recoil assembly some thing is wore out or binding youll have to take it off and see if your not confortable with that take it in for service
