purchasing a chainsaw help?
i am purchasing a chain saw to clear out a house lot. i am looking for a professional grade saw as i am following a career down that path. i was wondering what a good chainsaw would be. i prefer husqvarna and stihl. also what are the safest chain saw pants around. thanks

Stihl is the way to go. Husqies are good if you go with the higher end models, but they are owned by Poulan, who makes the low end of the line. A great saw for all around use is the Stihl Farm Boss (MS290). It’s a great saw, and runs from $349 (16" bar) to $369 (20" bar). Hope this helps.
I had a Poulan that I used to help a guy clearing his lot of some really big pine trees. It never failed me as long as I kept a file handy and a bottle of oil. It kicked back on me once but that was my fault for getting a little wild with it. I was sure I’d burn the clutch on it sooner or later but that never happened.
I have been a landscape contractor for 22 years and the only chain to use is a Stihl. A good chain saw for just clearing is a Farm Boss 029. Other ones are and 028, and 034. Unless you want to become an arborist these are all you need. You can put from a 16" bar to 30" bar on any one of these saws and you will have no problems.
the sthil 029 will last you forever. and will be fine for any trees you will find. and you can put a 25 inch bar on it if needed. i have used them for thousands of hours and on wildfires and never blown one up.
