Taking a chainsaw muffler off of chain saw good?

I'm about to make a chainsaw scooter and i was wondering if i take the muffler off my chainsaw will i get more power? even a little bit? Also i know your gonna say it will be really loud and i might see sparks i know this and dont care about that.

    The muffler is engineered to provide a bit of back pressure to prevent the cylinder from "overscavaging" so you actually could cut the horsepower by removing the muffler. Also you will certainly shorten the life of your engine if you take the muffler off. When a hot engine is shut down the muffler holds heat in the exhaust port and the internal parts normally cool off slowly. With out the muffler cold air can rush in and cool the cylinder, piston, rings and even the spark plug too rapidly and can warp, crack or cause the temper to be ruined.

    unlike a car muffler, a muffler on a chainsaw is used just to suppress the engine noise and will not restrict horsepower. I was a mechanic at a tool rental company and the muffler never restricted the power.

    Not sure if it true but I kept running a chain saw (cheap one) after the internal part of the muffler deteriorated and the engine crapped out. Took it to the shop and they said it was because the muffler was shot and I burned up the engine.
