It depends on the make and age of the saw. Some use as much as 32:1 while others use 50:1. If you want to stick with the manufactures recommendations you should find a dealer and ask.

the best is 50-1, u can buy the mix bottles any where and it usually goes in a gallon of gas. The bottle will say (for 1 gallon of gas) 50-1mix. I like to put the mix in first in the gas container and than the gas, insures it will mix better. and don’t forget the chain oil, your chain saw should have a separate filler tank for this marked oil ! good luck!

50 to 1 is pretty much standard. If your gas station sells gas with a 10% ethanol mix, go down to 40 to 1 as the ethanol tends to lean out the mixture. Most stations sell a 91 or 92 octane with no ethanol mix, try to use this whenever possible.

The chainsaws I have used have been either 40:1 or 50:1, and use the higher octane 91?), and they just told me to use the synthetic oil, but I do not know why. If you get the wrong mixture, you will get some smoke that will give you a headache,
