40:1 would be a safe bet. Use regular gas, not premium – it just costs more and really does nothing for the performance of a chainsaw. Also, don’t waste your money on adding a little stabilizer – it also does nothing for performance. Use stabilizer only when you plan to store the chainsaw for a few months. Or, when storing, just drain the fuel tank, run the chainsaw until it runs out of fuel, pull the starter a few times and put it in storage and save yourself the expense of stabilizer entirely!
I can’t say specifically for Homelite. Most of my stuff is Stihl or Echo. I use a 2 gallon gas can and use the second grade of gasoline (super–higher octane than the 1st pump). I’ve been using the Echo "Premium 2-stroke Engine Oil with Fuel Stabilizer," the 5.2 Fl. Oz. to the 2 gallons of gas. If the darn thing won’t start, take off the air cleaner and replace it or dry it off well with a paper towel and put it back in. Good luck and may the force be with you, Plus, I’ve started adding a little bit of fuel stabilizer to my gas powered stuff. They seem to start better and run stronger. I call it jet fuel. Oh well.

just splash a little in there with the gas till it turns light blue ,lol thats what i do !!!
Almost all are either 40 or 50 to one. If you don’t know, use 45 to one, it will not hurt anything.
