I do not have a lot of experience with chainsaws but I have a freind who is an arbor and he recomends a Stihl or Husquavarna. He says the cheaper brands are just that - cheap. I bought a Stihl and works great.

stihl....my dad worked in a sawmill for years, that was the only kind of saw he ever used. He still has the 1st one he ever bought. It is over 20 years old and still runs like a brand new one. Hope this helps.

If you do not know how to sharpen it or maintain it, don't get it. Poulans are iffy in my estimation and they make Sears's saws. The higher level of Husquavarna are excellent, Stilh is very good, John Deer's top line is great - Just get one big enough to do what you want to do and don't cut your stupid leg or hand off.
