Which is more harmful to trees…The Emerald Ash Borer, or the Chainsaws Cutting Down the Trees to stop them?

What is the point of towns spending $ millions on destroying trees to combat the Emerald Ash Borer insect invasion? I doubt there is a way to stop every single Borer. So, does it make sense to chop down all the Ash trees so the Ash Borers don't kill them?

Definitely, cutting down trees. I think there is a better way to combat insects. Our forests are so depleted as it is that we can’t afford to keep cutting. We need to become more "green".

Cutting them down…what if the Ash survives the Borer attack?
